TRaC Global has announced it has been approved as a Certified Test Laboratory by Continua Health Alliance.

Following the announcement, made at the opening plenary of Continua Health Alliance’s Summit being held this week in Berlin, TRaC is now the only test house in the world to be approved by the Continua Health Alliance as well as the ZigBee Alliance and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group – the industry bodies promoting the two wireless technologies used by the Continua Health Alliance.

TRaC will now play an integral part in Continua’s Certification program, performing testing and certification on health care, fitness and medical devices including blood pressure monitors, heart rate monitors and independent living aids, to ensure devices which display the Continua logo meet the requirements of the Continua Design Guidelines and its standards and specifications to establish interoperability of personal health devices.

Paul Russell, director at TRaC, said, “Becoming a Continua Certified Test Laboratory is a significant step forward for us and allows us to expand our activities in the health care technologies market.

“For our clients in this sector this news also means we are officially a ‘one stop shop’ for their Continua needs – making the testing process more efficient and removing the need for separate test houses for ZigBee and Bluetooth technologies.”

Clint McClellan, Continua Board president and chairman, and senior director of strategic marketing at Qualcomm Life, added, “We are pleased to announce TRaC as a Continua Certified Test Laboratory. TRaC’s commitment to Continua and its expertise as a leading testing, consultancy, certification and global approval service will be invaluable in our certification program.”
