With 50 million tonnes of e-waste expected to be generated globally by the end of this year, but only 20 per cent of that being recycled, it is time to address this issue head-on.

Increasing concern for the environmental and health risks of toxic Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) has inspired the WEEE Forum to launch the first International E-Waste Day on October 13th. The day aims to raise the public’s awareness of e-waste and encourage consumers and businesses alike to correctly dispose of it.

Electrical Waste Recycling Group (EWRG) understand that with busy day-to-day schedules, complying to WEEE regulations put in place to collect and recycle unwanted electrical goods can fall low on the list of priorities.

With 80 per cent of dangerous and harmful global e-waste going unaccounted for, the responsibility to follow these guidelines has never been more important. Rather than finding its way to landfills or traded illegally, it’s time to commit to recycling and repurposing WEEE to encourage a more sustainable and safer future.

That’s why EWRG have partnered with electrical wholesalers, CEF to encourage businesses and tradespersons to get involved this International E-Waste Day via their dedicated one-stop-shop recycling service.

What exactly do they offer?

  • Bespoke recycling operations
  • The UK’s only electrical wholesale in-house e-waste recycling facility.
  • Drop off point at each CEF branch or your own compliant container on-site.
  • Nationwide collection service.
  • All the paperwork to ensure consignment is legal and audit trail is complete.

Straightforward and easy to put into action, the unique and responsive recycling program covers everything from compliance checklist to jargon busting explanations.
