SATRA Technology’s PPE division has held an open day for the motorcycle PPE industry to celebrate the opening of its’ new motorcycle testing lab. The lab was opened on Friday 19th November 2021 by Jamie Perrin, a Kettering-born GP2 rider. Jamie’s leathers were sponsored by SATRA for the 2021 season.

The event was hosted by SATRA CEO John Hooker and the head of SATRA’s PPE division Simon Courtney, who led a session on SATRA’s motorcycle testing and certification services, particularly relevant considering the recent introduction of the UKCA mark.

Following this, attendees got to visit the motorcycle lab itself for an opening ceremony featuring the aforementioned Jamie Perrin, followed by some demonstrations of tests regularly performed on motorcycle PPE.

Simon Courtney, head of SATRA’s PPE division, commented: ‘The lab is a great addition to our existing PPE testing and certification services, allowing us to offer more specialised services that fit the motorcycle PPE industry’s needs. We look forward to further developing our offer to businesses in this space.’
