The machinery division of TÜV SÜD Product Service, formerly Laidler Associates, will be running four sessions of its University Certificate in Professional Development (UCPD) course on European Machinery Safety this autumn.

The first one is due to take place on 17th September 2012 at TÜV SÜD’s offices in Billingham.

The UCPD course consists of five days’ training, covering, in detail, the regulatory framework relating to machine safety, followed by a 16 week distance learning programme which allows participants to complete their final assessment using TÜV SÜD’s virtual reality package.

The dates and locations for the UCPD Courses in autumn 2012 are:

• Monday 17th September, European Machine Safety Requirements – Billingham
• Monday 22nd October, European Machine Safety Requirements – Solihull
• Monday 19th November, European Machine Safety Requirements – Fareham
• Monday 3rd December, European Machine Safety Requirements – Scotland

The UCPD courses are university accredited and thereby meet the highest standards. They also offer successful participants university credits that can be used towards additional formal qualifications.
