Ametek Land, one of the major innovators in infrared non-contact temperature measurement and combustion and environmental monitoring equipment, is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

Ametek Land is using its 70th anniversary year to build on its reputation for providing accurate and innovative temperature measurement solutions and investing in and creating new market- leading products that customers value.

As Justin Smith, managing director of Ametek Land since 2015, explained: “Our vision during this, our 70th anniversary year, is to develop products that are geared not only to our current core business sectors in heavy processing industries, like steel, but also to the next generation of manufacturing. Those products will be affordable as well as help industries, such as aluminium, glass, metals, industrial gas and power, to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive world.

“This is a very exciting time for Ametek Land. There are major opportunities for the business to grow as customers work towards meeting ever tighter emissions controls and reduce their energy usage. The use of our products is hugely diverse and we see opportunities for our infrared and environmental products to become an even more integral part of how industrial plants operate.”

As markets focus on producing lighter and more versatile materials, Ametek Land has responded and extended its temperature measurement solutions for aluminium, specialty steels and carbon fibre production. Land’s focus remains on helping customers to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, safety and reliability through the use of its innovative infrared, combustion and environmental products.

This year, Ametek Land has introduced its next generation of near infrared (NIR-B) borescopes into the glass and industrial gases markets. In those industries, Ametek Land expects to see major growth in its leading thermal imaging technology, which will help deliver better energy management and conservation, and improve efficiencies.
