Altra Industrial Motion is offering a free Virtual Reality (VR) experience to all stand visitors at this year’s Hannover Messe.
The mechanical power transmission specialist has launched the ‘Altra Virtual Environments’ app for download to smartphones – everyone who downloads the app prior to the show will be eligible to claim a free pair of VR glasses at the Altra stand.
The app delivers an immersive, 360° insight into seven different industrial application environments. It uses high quality graphics and detailed interactive models to demonstrate how the brands within the Altra group of companies are able to provide efficient, reliable solutions.

Virtual reality allows users the chance to actively explore environments via a smartphone or VR glasses – in this case bridging the gap between a visual, online catalogue of Altra’s industrial application solutions and their applicable physical environments.
Users will get the chance to interact and engage with a complete range of power transmission solutions from all of Altra’s brands like never before. Explore and interact with environments including mines, water treatment works and processing areas. See videos, images and text in each application environment via icons during a fully immersive virtual experience.
The app is free to download and is available for smartphones with download links available on ve.altraex.com. Those who wish to use the app can do so without VR glasses, instead using the screen of their smartphone for navigation.
Attendees to the event can also expect to view physical products and meet with industry experts from all the Altra Industrial Motion Corporation brands, including Bauer Gear Motor, Bibby Turboflex, Guardian Couplings, Huco, Matrix, Stieber Clutch, Stromag, Svendborg Brakes, TB Wood’s, Twiflex, Warner Electric, Warner Linear and Wichita Clutch. All will be presenting the latest industry leading solutions, which improve reliability, enhance efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership in power transmission applications.
